Did you know that many of the appliances in your home emit a large amount of EMF radiation? While exposure from these appliances is important, they are less important than smart meters, cell towers, and wi-fi.
For today’s post we are going to talk about microwave oven dangers.
Isn’t the microwave a wonderful convenience? Well, we are here to tell you that they come with a cost. They reduce the quality of your food by re-arranging the molecular structure as it heats your food. This changes the nutritional value of your food, which is not good! GMOd foods and non-organic foods already have toxic chemicals and pesticides which harms the nutritional value. Nuking these foods in a microwave makes them even more toxic and less nutritious. Also, microwaves emit a large amount of EMF radiation, which is, of course, very hazardous to your health.
HOW MICROWAVES WORK
Microwave ovens work this way:
See the keypad on the right side of the microwave? See the empty box that you heat your food in? Behind the keypad is a magnetron that generates microwaves. This magnetron uses electricity from the power outlet and turns the electricity into high powered radio waves. Using a “waveguide”, the magnetron sends radio waves into the microwave compartment. The food inside on the spinning plate is “cooked” evenly by the radiation bouncing around inside. These bouncing waves, when they hit the food are absorbed. They make the molecules inside the food vibrate violently, which then heats the food. So, the more radio waves absorbed by the food, the faster the molecules vibrate and the hotter the food gets.
DO MICROWAVE OVENS DAMAGE FOOD?
Due to the way microwaves blast food with radiation in order to heat it, is very efficient at heating, but alters the food’s molecular structure. Since the molecules vibrate so quickly, they are deformed. When food is cooked by conventional ways, it uses conventional heat and the food is heated from the outside in, preserving the molecular structure. Microwaves cook foods based on water content. This is why foods cook unevenly, due to different amounts of water in each food. There is also some research suggesting microwave ovens create carcinogenic properties when some foods are heated.
A book written by Case Adams called “Electromagnetic Health: Making Sense of the Research and Practical Solutions for Electromagnet Fields (EMF) and Radio Frequencies (RF)”, stated that research at the University of California determined that microwave ovens produce heterocyclic aromatic amines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, both of which are possible carcinogens.
DO MICROWAVE OVENS DEPLETE NUTRITION FROM FOOD?
There are quite a few studies that show that microwave ovens do damage the nutritional value of the food you eat. Heating of the food and the bombardment of radiation waves into the food do damage to the health value of the food.
Surprisingly, there has been little research on how the human body is affected by eating microwaved food. With microwaves being so common in so many households, you would think safety investigation with regards to standing in front of it, and its impact on food. Here are a few studies about the loss in nutritional value:
In 1999, Acta Agriculturae Scandinavica B published a study stating that the microwaving of asparagus caused a reduction in nutritional value and a reduction in vitamin C.
In 2001, the Journal of Nutrition found that microwaving garlic for 60 seconds inactivated the allinase, the cancer-fighting enzyme in garlic.
A Japanese study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that microwaving milk for 6 minutes changed 30 to 40 percent of B-12 into a dead, non-nutritional form.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT PLASTIC IN THE MICROWAVE?
It is definitely not a good idea to put plastic in the microwave! When plastics are microwaved, dangerous BPA can leak into the food. Plastic wrap can be absorbed into your food as well. Now, many of us are aware of these things, and many containers are labeled microwave safe, but we urge you to be careful or to use safe glassware to heat your food.
ARE MICROWAVES DANGEROUS TO OUR HEALTH?
When you use a microwave oven, you are exposing your food and yourself to an enormous amount of EMF radiation. Depending on where you stand, the levels are more powerful than your cell phone or tablet. We highly recommend removing the microwave from your home. Ovens work great to heat food, so do toaster ovens, or heating food on the stove works well too.
If you do have to keep the microwave, we recommend that you unplug it when not in use, and place a Neutralizer disc somewhere on the outside. We also recommend using a Whole House Plug in your home. This retunes the wiring of any device that is plugged into an electrical socket. Not only are both a fantastic foundation of protection in your home, the additional disc will really go a long way in neutralizing the EMF waves when and if you need to use your microwave. Here are a few tips for using your Microwave oven less:
- Try not to overcook your food. When all the water evaporates, the food will cook more rapidly and cause more damage to the molecular structure of the food.
- DO NOT look into the window of the microwave! Stay at least 5-10 feet away while it is on.
- A little planning ahead for defrosting, like taking it out of the freezer in the morning and placing the frozen food in your refrigerator or simply leave it in a bowl of room temperature water, depending on how much time is available to you.
- Check out toaster ovens! They are smaller than a microwave, use less energy than your oven and fit nicely on the counter. Plus, they don’t alter the molecular structure of your food.
- Reduce your need for the microwave by buying fresh, whole foods. You can steam or sauté things and they have a much richer taste because the natural vitamins and nutrition is not being altered.
- Do not use plastics for any reason when heating things up in the microwave. Try to use microwave safe glassware.
